WHAT IS SCOTTSDALE PARENTING GROUP?
Scottsdale Parenting Group (SPG) offers classes that provide instructional tools and ideas to help you become the best parent you can be. There is also an opportunity to become involved in playgroups, Moms' Night Out, and other social activities outside of the classroom setting.
After registering with SPG, you will be placed in a class with other moms of children in your child's age range. We have classes for moms of kids age prebirth-12 months, 12-36 months, 3-4 years, 5-6 years, and 7 years and up. A qualified instructor teaches your class and teaches you age-appropriate parenting topics. Our instructors include Early Childhood Educators, Nurse Practitioners, Family Counselors, Child Development Specialists and Registered Nurses. There is on-site child care available so you may attend class while your child is cared for just down the hall.
The classes meet approximately every other Thursday for the school year of September through May. You may join mid-session if space is available. The nursery opens at 9:00 a.m. and then you can enjoy refreshments with other moms before heading off to class at 9:30. There is usually a question and answer session at the end of each class that offers you a supportive environment in which you can discuss any parenting issues you might be having. Class ends at 11:30 a.m.
Most classes have playgroups every other week in between classes. This gives you the great opporunity to make new friends and socialize with other moms in the area, and also make new friends for your little ones. Moms' Nights' Out are available at least once a month and offer you a great chance to have a good time with friends without the kids.
Scottsdale Parenting Group can be considered the closest thing we have to an owner's manual for kids! Contact us if you would like to participate in a trial class to see if SPG will be something you would like to be a part of.
Classes are held at 11735 N. Scottsdale Rd., Scottsdale, Arizona 85254 (North Scottsdale United Methodist Church) just south of Cactus.
